tival Saalfelden for Yvonne Moriel.\n\n\n\nMusically\, the festival sets a
strong signal for the local scene right from the opening. The traditional
commissioned composition is entrusted to Yvonne Moriel\, the Vienna-based
saxophonist well known in Saalfelden and one of the most distinctive voic
es of the young Austrian jazz scene. After studying in Linz\, Vienna\, and
Zurich\, she developed an independent musical language situated between j
 azz\, improvisation\, and electronics. Awarded\, among others\, the Austri
an Jazz Award\, Moriel has already appeared at our festival in various for
mations. An opening that underscores the festival’s commitment to bringing
the bold visions of local female artists to the main stage.
